Flute is one of the oldest woodwind instruments. It is known for its enchanting music as popularized in Greek mythology, medieval folklores and fairytales. When played, flute brings a sense of calming bliss which relaxes and satisfies its audience. Flute becomes very versatile when you mix it with classical, jazz, pop and even rock music. Benefits of taking flute or recorder lessons

Taking flute or recorder lessons is beneficial for your health. Playing it regularly will help to enhance your breathing. While playing flute an amaetuer needs to adjust his/her breathing pattern so that they can capture more air into their lungs in order to maintain the right sound frequency, and thus expanding the breathing capability or stamina. The instrument is also light and portable. You can carry it around and play it anywhere you require.

Age to start taking flute lessons.

Our music school recommends starting taking flute lessons at the age of 7 or older. However young students can begin to take recorder lessons as early as age of 5. Recorder is a great instrument for children who are too small to play any other woodwind instruments. It sounds pleasing from the start. The child will still learn about music and co-ordination of eyes, fingers and breath making the transition to another woodwind instrument easier.
